Esperanza Reads Book Club In-Person

Students are invited to read and discuss the YA Novel, Esperanza Rising. We will be meeting in the Library, L102. The meeting dates are Sep.17, Oct.1, Oct.15, Oct.29 from 3 to 4pm. Spaces are limited, so RSVP to reserve your spot and secure your book.  Refreshments will be provided.

About the Novel: Esperanza Rising is a young adult historical fiction novel by Mexican-American author Pam Muñoz Ryan. The novel focuses on Esperanza, the only daughter of wealthy Mexican parents, Sixto and Ramona. The story follows the events that occur after her father's murder when Esperanza, her mother, and their former household servants flee to California with no money during the Great Depression, where they find low-paying agricultural work.
